Judicial decrees, decisions, positions, and orders issued by official Israeli bodies [Source: Law for Palestine]

·         Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “I have approved the IDF operational plan for Rafah. The IDF is prepared for the evacuation of the civilian population and for the provision of humanitarian assistance. This is the right thing both operationally and internationally. This will take time but it will be done. We will enter Rafah and we will eliminate the Hamas battalions there for one simple reason: There is no victory without entering Rafah and there is no victory without eliminating the Hamas battalions there. This is a fundamental part of the goals of the war, which also include returning all of our hostages.” (March 31, 2024) For further details, click here

·         The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) Chief of Staff expressed his regret over the killing of seven World Central Kitchen (WCK) employees in an Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip. He claimed that the attack against the employees was unintentional, attributing the unfortunate incident to a case of wrong identification in complex conditions. He stated that they will carry out an investigation, learn from the conclusions, and take action immediately. The Israeli President, Isaac Herzog, also reiterated Israel’s commitment to ensuring a thorough investigation of the tragedy, which occurred amidst the ongoing war. In the same context, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed Israel’s deep regrets about the tragic incident and stressed that the IOF is conducting a swift and transparent investigation that will be published publicly. He added, “Israel is fully committed to enabling humanitarian aid to reach the civilian population in Gaza and we will do everything in our power to ensure that such tragedies do not occur in the future.” (April 2, 2024)

·         The IOF responded to the Guardian newspaper’s report disclosing the use of artificial intelligence and a database named “Lavender”, which is used by the IOF to cross-reference intelligence sources for identifying potential Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. In the response, the IOF stated that they were working to dismantle Hamas’ military capabilities after the October 7 attack. The IOF reaffirmed its commitment to international law, asserting that its strikes are only directed towards military targets and military operatives. The statement claimed that the IOF does not use an artificial intelligence system that identifies terrorist operatives, but instead relies on information management tools which assist intelligence analysts in gathering and effectively analyzing intelligence and to identify military targets. (April 3, 2024) For further details, click here here

·         In his meeting with a delegation from the US Congress, the Israeli Prime Minister stressed the importance of the US-Israeli alliance in confronting current barbarism. He stressed that the conflict in Gaza is not just a conflict between Israel and Hamas, but rather a conflict against the Iranian terror axis and its proxies. He also rejected the idea of establishing a Palestinian state, considering it an additional threat to the security of Israel and the region.(April 4, 2024) For further details, click here

·         In the wake of the deadly raid on the World Central Kitchen convoy and the tense conversation between US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel announced immediate steps to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, as it will temporarily open the port of Ashdod to deliver humanitarian aid, and will open the Erez crossing in the northern Gaza for the first time since October 7. The Prime Minister’s Office added, “The increased aid will prevent a humanitarian crisis. and is critical for ensuring the continuation of the fighting and achieving the war aims.” (April 5, 2024) For further details, click here

  • IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said that despite the withdrawal of all of the army’s maneuvering ground forces from the Gaza Strip, the war against Hamas continues and is far from over. In addition, the IDF would be fully able to resume fighting if it halts temporarily in the event of a truce as part of a hostage deal. (April 7, 2024) For more details, clickhere

  • Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said he believes Israel has reached an “opportune moment” to bring about the release of hostages held in Gaza, but such a move will require “difficult decisions.” (April 8, 2024) For further details, clickhere

  • Haaretz newspaper mentioned in an article by its correspondent in the West Bank, Hagar Shezaf, that after three months of the year 2024, the year has already witnessed a record number of West Bank territories declared as Israeli-owned properties. Maps have been redrawn for approximately 24,000 dunams (5,900 acres) of state-owned lands, most of which are in deep areas of the West Bank – a move that could signal settlement construction in those areas. (April 11, 2024) For further details, clickhere

  • The Israeli Minister of National Security has announced the approval of a previous proposal by the Israeli government. This proposal allows the Israeli army to construct an additional 936 prison facilities for Palestinian security prisoners, bringing the total capacity to 1,600. The aim of this construction is to alleviate the strain on Israeli prisons and accommodate a greater number of Palestinian prisoners, particularly those from the Gaza Strip. This step is seen as a partial solution to the ongoing prison crisis in Israel. The Minister added, “Implementing the death penalty for terrorists (Palestinians) is the appropriate solution to the prison issue, but until then, I am pleased that the government has agreed to the proposal I put forward.” (April 17, 2024). • Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan said UNRWA was “one of the weapons” crafted by the General Assembly that was only prolonging the Middle East conflict. “UNRWA, the organization that so many of you [UN members] fund, is the UN’s single biggest obstacle to a solution,” he said. He added that the agency “is creating a sea of Palestinian refugees, millions of them, indoctrinated to believe that Israel belongs to them.”(April 17, 2024). For further information, click here.

  • In response to the Biden administration’s decision to impose sanctions on the Netzah Yehuda Battalion and settlers, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold a session of the political-security cabinet. The purpose would be to discuss imposing sanctions on the Palestinian Authority (PA), confiscating Palestinian Authority funds, and drafting a series of strict sanctions against Palestinian banks. (April 21, 2024) For further details, click here.

  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that any attempt by the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) to arrest Israeli soldiers and officials would be outrageous. Netanyahu added, “Under my leadership, Israel will never accept any attempt by the ICC to undermine its inherent right to self-defense.” He said that although the ICC would not influence Israel’s actions, “it would set a dangerous precedent that threatens the soldiers and officials of all democracies fighting savage terrorism and wanton aggression.” (April 26, 2024) For further details, click here.

  • In light of US calls for an investigation, the Israeli military said it had already looked into reports of mass graves and found no violations on the part of its forces. Israeli army spokesman NadavShoshani described the reports as “fake news.” He then added, “We gave answers. We don’t bury people in mass graves. Not something we do.” (April 26, 2024) For further, click here.

‘Anatomy of a Genocide’ – UN  Jonathan Ofir Mweiss 02/04/2024

Albanese begins with the historical context of the genocide, even rooted in Israeli pre-state colonialist intents, and then charts out how Israel has committed three central facets under the crime of genocide — the killing of members of a particular group of people, causing bodily or mental harm, and creating destructive conditions of life. There is also a section concerning intent that chronicles some of the countless, unambiguous, genocidal expressions of Israeli leaders. Read more: https://mondoweiss.net/2024/04/new-un-report-outlines-the-anatomy-of-a-genocide-in-gaza/?ml_recipient=117604755017041140&ml_link=117604547484976400

Israel destroys hospitals to accelerate social collapse Faris Giacaman Mweiss 02/04/24  Hospitals in Gaza during times of war have not only served as places for the treatment of the wounded and the sick but have become pivotal social institutions, housing a microcosm of Gaza’s entire civic order. They became hubs for journalists and human rights defenders, offered space for Gaza’s Civil Defense teams to organize and coordinate rescue efforts, became a base of operations for Gaza’s police force, and hosted tens of thousands of displaced refugees seeking shelter from the bombardment. Hospitals became all those things because they were the last remaining civilian institutions that were supposed to enjoy a modicum of protection from the war. . . . But despite the fact that Israel’s claims about al-Shifa turned out to be baseless, the invasion set an important precedent for what was considered acceptable conduct throughout the war. What was previously unthinkable now became commonplace, setting the stage for what was to come. Israel says it will ‘temporarily’ allow aid into Gaza Qassam Muaddi Mweiss 05/04/2024  The Israeli cabinet said on Thursday that it will “temporarily” allow up to 350 trucks of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip through land crossings, including 250 trucks through the Rafah crossing and the rest through the Kerem Shalom crossing in southern Israel. International pressure has been mounting on Israel to allow more humanitarian aid into the Strip, as only 50 to 80 trucks have been allowed daily according to observers. Prior to October 7, Israel allowed up to 500 trucks of food and supplies into Gaza on a daily basis.

The announcement arrived in the midst of a wave of intense international criticism of Israel, following the killing of seven aid workers of the World Central Kitchen by an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza on Monday. Australia, Canada, Poland, and the UK have condemned Israel for the killing of the WCK workers, who held citizenship of those respective countries. Israeli policy to reinforce famine Euro-med Human Rights Monitor Report  05/04/24  A deliberate Israeli policy to reinforce famine in the Gaza Strip” reveals the killing of 563 Palestinians and the injury of 1,523 more due to Israel’s targeting of people waiting for aid, distribution centres, and workers responsible for organising, protecting, and distributing aid.  Read more: https://euromedmonitor.org/en/article/6259/New-Report:-Killing-starving-Palestinians,-targeting-aid-trucks-is-a-deliberate-Israeli-policy-to-reinforce-famine-in-the-Gaza-Strip

World Central Kitchen serves Israel’s genocidal agenda Ali Abunimah EI 05/04/24 An immediate effect of the attack is that several humanitarian groups suspended operations in Gaza, a move aimed at ensuring the safety of their personnel, but which can only exacerbate the deliberate famine caused by Israel. A reasonable assumption is that this was Israel’s goal: to make sure that no one in Gaza eats, in line with Tel Aviv’s announcement right at the beginning of its genocide that it was imposing a total siege, blocking all food, water, medicine and other means of sustenance to the 2.3 million people Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant called “human animals.”

Israeli Doctor Blows Whistle on War Crimes Brett Wilkins Consortium News 05/04/24  In a letter to Israel’s attorney general and defense and health ministers viewed by Haaretz — which reported the story Thursday — the anonymous physician describes likely war crimes being committed at the Israel Defense Force’s Sde Teiman base near Beersheva. Palestinian militants captured by IDF troops, as well as many civilian hostages ranging in age from teenagers to septuagenarians, are held there in cages, 70-100 per cage, until they are transferred to regular Israeli prisons or released. “From the first days of the medical facility’s operation until today, I have faced serious ethical dilemmas,” the doctor wrote. “More than that, I am writing to warn you that the facility’s operations do not comply with a single section among those dealing with health in the Internment of Unlawful Combatants Law.” Gazans arrested and detained by Israeli forces are not legally considered prisoners of war by Israel because it does not recognize Gaza as a state. Read more: https://consortiumnews.com/2024/04/05/israeli-doctor-blows-whistle-on-war-crimes/

Israel is Committing Genocide across Palestine Lemkin Institute 08/04/2024

These attacks have been underreported in the mainstream Western press, which has also failed to tie Israel Defense Force (IDF) and settler violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem to the genocide being committed in Gaza. These processes are all part of an overwhelming push on the part of Israeli authorities to oust Palestinians from their remaining ancestral lands. In other words, Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians across Palestine. Desperate scrabble for food in northern Gaza  Khuloud R Sulaiman EI 10/04/24

How do you get food in northern Gaza? Short answer, with extreme difficulty.

As Israel’s military continues to impose famine on Gaza, and without any semblance of law and order, since local police are targets for Israeli soldiers, an estimated 500,000 people who stayed in the north are facing imminent death from starvation. The few orderly aid distributions that do come through are inevitably organized by the UN agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) in coordination with law enforcement – as much as they can – and local clans. ‘Come out, you animals’: how the massacre at al-Shifa Hospital happened Tareq S Hajjaj Mweiss 11/04/2024  Human heads eaten by crows, unidentified and decomposing body parts, and hundreds of corpses piled up and buried in mass graves are all that remained of the victims of the massacre at al-Shifa Hospital. The grim scene was something out of a dystopian movie, the product of the two-week siege of Gaza’s largest hospital that ended in its total destruction. . . .  The way the Israeli army described the gathering was that it had obtained confirmed intelligence reports of a large number of “terror operatives” from both groups inside al-Shifa, and after the raid, it announced that it had arrested 900 “suspects” and confirmed that 500 of them were “terror operatives,” while announcing that it had killed 200 more “gunmen,” among them “top commanders in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.”

Gaza detainees 'urinated on, made to act like animals' by Israeli forces Alex MacDonald  Middle East Eye 17/04/24  The United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (Unrwa) said it received reports of mass ill treatment of Palestinians taken captive from Gaza by Israeli forces, including detainees being urinated on and made to act like animals, and children being attacked by dogs.  A new report, released on Palestinian Prisoners' Day on Wednesday, warned that for the thousands of prisoners kept in detention by the Israeli army, physical, sexual and psychological abuse were routine. Several detainees reported being forced into cages and attacked by dogs. Some released detainees, including a child, had dog bite wounds on their body," read the report. Freedom Flotilla   PRESS RELEASE 27/04/2024

ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE:
